U-PICK STRAWBERRY GUIDELINES

When you arrive at the farm, please park and go to the strawberry table to get your harvest containers. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear (if it’s muddy in the fields, it’s best to wear rain boots).  Bringing beverages to drink and wearing sunscreen and a hat will make berry picking much more pleasant!

1. Please park in the designated pick-your-own strawberry parking area.

2. Please see the attendant in the PYO field station. Feel free to leave keys on a table or other small items you don’t want to get lost in the fields. (Every year keys, wedding rings, pacifiers, favorite toys, even shoes are lost in our PYO fields.)

3. You may only pick in the fields indicated as open for picking. These fields will be demarcated with orange cones. If you are confused, just ask the attendant which block of strawberries is open.

4. Please use the berry containers provided by the farm to place your harvested berries in and do not eat berries in the field. Please do not bring your own bags or containers into the fields. If you would like to help us recycle the berry containers, please leave your bags at the PYO field station, then transfer your berries into your bags at the table.

5. You must be able to hold your full berry container with one hand on the bottom (if it’s a fiberboard quart) & may not pile up your container.  Both quarts and buckets must be level at the top. Questions?  Please ask the attendant.

6. Our strawberries will not ripen after picking, so only pick red, ripened berries, not green or white ones or berries with green or white tips. Please check out with the attendant after you have picked berries to fill each quart level with its upper edge.

There is no admission fee and there is a portapotty at the farm for your use.

We also sell strawberries and asparagus to select retailers, including Whole Earth Center in Princeton, English Farm in Liberty Corner, NJ and Basil Bandwagon in Flemington.
